A lot of big blockbusters are expected to hit the big screens this spring, including the well-anticipated third installment of the Iron Man series, the romantic sci-fi film The Host, and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, just to name a few. So stay inside from those April showers by going to see a movie instead. Here’s a lineup of what to expect in the next few months:

Stephanie Meyer, famous author of the Twilight series, breaks out of her vampire-inspired storyline by adding in a couple of alien body snatchers instead. Known as “hosts”, these other-worldly beings take over the bodies of humans and erase their memories in the process. The trouble begins when one girl decides to fight back. While a major part of the plot-line does revolve around a complicated romance, Director Andrew Niccoli said in an interview that there are plenty of action scenes as well. So don’t worry if your girl drags you to see it, guys, there’s something in there for you too. In theaters April 5.

Tom Cruise plays the last man left on Earth, as he tries to extract remaining resources leftover from an alien war that destroyed the entire planet. What he encounters makes him question what really happened in that fatal war, and what he believes this mission is really about. The more he uncovers, the more the future of mankind is at risk. Not only is Tom Cruise in this action packed sci-fi thriller, but Morgan Freeman also has a major role. So even if you aren’t a Cruise fan, everyone has to be a Morgan Freeman fan. Isn’t that enough reason to check this movie out? In theaters April 12.

Die hard comic book lovers and general fans of the series are guaranteed to be interested in this one. When Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) world is blown apart by a terrorist only known as the ‘Mandarin,’ he struggles to protect his relationship with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and everything he cares about. The villain, played by the glorious Ben Kingsley, is a tough opponent and should give Iron Man a good fight. The Mandarin was actually based off of Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now as someone who used to work in the intelligence field but eventually cracked. Director Shane Black is hoping to breathe new life into the franchise after less than impressive reviews from Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2In theaters May 3.

The Great Gatsby

From director Baz Luhrmann comes the new big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, The Great Gatsby. The movie follows the aspiring writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves his home in the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922. As luck has it, Nick ends up next door to a glitzy-party-throwing millionaire named Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). Upon their meeting, Nick is immediately thrown into a web of illusions, love, and deceit. As a sort of love letter to Leonardo DiCaprio, The Great Gatsby is sure to please fans of the book and movie-goers alike. With it’s big time visuals and super-talented cast, this movie is up there with the must-sees of this spring season. In theaters May 10.

The Hangover Part III

(L-r) Bradley Cooper as Phil, Zach Galifianakis as Alan and Ed Helms as Stu in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ comedy “THE HANGOVER PART III,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Yes, you read that title correctly. After the second installment earned the franchise $581 million worldwide, the wolfpack is back for round three. But this time, there’s no wedding or a bachelor party–just a road trip. Full of mayhem and extremely bad decisions, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Doug (Justin Bartha), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) are in for another wild ride. No doubt their arch nemesis Mr.Chow will pop up somewhere on this trip, and apparently Alan buys a pet giraffe, which everyone knows can only go over so well. While this latest movie will no doubt share a number of similarities from the previous two, fans of the series will flock to buy their tickets to see how the pack makes it out this time. In theaters May 24.
