This film follows teenage Clary Fray (Collins) as her mother disappears and she learns that she descends from a long line of demon hunters. She joins a group of others like her and they head into a dangerous alternate version of New York City called Downworld. Many people hoped that this young adult adaptation would garner similar success to Twilight or The Hunger Games, but the movie has been panned by critics and has barely made a dent at the box office since its release this past Wednesday.

This horror flick is a home invasion thriller, centering on a group of masked, ax-wielding murderers who attack a family reunion. Things get interesting, however, when one of the family members turns out to be quite a talented killer themselves. This movie is getting positive reviews and according to word-of-mouth, is much better than The Purge.
