New Ender's Game Stills

As the ever-anticipated release of the Ender’s Game movie draws nearer, more and more stills have been released from the set. The newest wave arrived seven days ago, giving us a little more detail into what Ender’s daily life will be like in the upcoming film.
Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), the protagonist, spends most of the novel (and film, presumably) in an academy for space soldiers, and the newest stills give us a feel for this setting. There is a distinct lack of sleekness in the design of the station. While everything looks futuristic and “spacey”, what should be smooth is blocky; the control desks that students sit at in one still look like a black computer modem from 2000. This is, perhaps, a throwback to the fact that the original novel was written in 1985, and rather than the rounded white Apple-look to all our modern sci-fi films, the directors are embodying that treasured 80s feel to the station’s look.
Assorted students are shown in the new photos, but most importantly, we’re given a glance at Bean (Aramis Knight), an important character from the novel. In the still, he is just arriving at the station, wearing a look of suspicious wonder as he disembarks from his space shuttle.
While the amount of material released was (and has been) sparse, the movie has a strong enough legacy that interest remains ensured in the coming weeks before the film’s release on November 1st.
