In 1994, Disney went where they had never gone before: Broadway. Bringing their classic film Beauty and the Beast to the stage, they were met with insane box office success and the start of a phenomenon. Now, despite a few flops like The Little Mermaid and Tarzan, Broadway adaptations of Disney films have had incredible success. Mary Poppins is about to end a very successful seven-year run, and The Lion King is currently the highest-grossing musical in Broadway history. With the opening of an Aladdin adaptation looming just around the corner (spring of 2014!), Emertainment Monthly thought it would be a good idea to make some suggestions as to what Disney should bring to Broadway next.

Other then that, terrific blog!
They should bring Tarzan back to B’way for sure and use the streamlined version they use here in Germany, which is a huge hit. They trimmed down the plot and added more acrobatics. The stage also almost wraps around the lower orchestra, so more areal tricks happen directly above the audience. Come over to Stuttgart to see the Tarzan production. 🙂
Frozen’s already had its Broadway go-signal, though they’re not in a rush to do it since they want it perfect.
Also, there was a very good production of Hunchback in Germany too- with some pretty awesome staging.

Another cool compilation of the Tarzan here in Germany- You can see how they scaled it up and have more tricks. One of the most exciting shows I’ve seen live. 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le46S11BGq4
I would love to see Frozen, Tangled, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tarzan, and Hercules on broadway. I love all those films and I believe would make specular shows. I would go to all of them as would many other people.
I agree with all of your choices but for sure “The Princess and the Frog” should definitely be on Broadway!!

Tarzan and Frozen are both either been or going to be on Broadway. So YAY!
I would love to see Frozen, Tangled, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tarzan, and Hercules on broadway. I love all those films and I believe would make specular shows. I would go to all of them as would many other people.
Now Tangled is brought to Broadway!!!
I would absolutely LOVE to see Mulan come to Broadway.
Of course now you have to add ‘Moana’ to this list!! (It already has a good foot in the door. 😉 )
Nice! Maybe Disney should give Tarzan another shot on Broadway! I’d also kill to see these other movies and also Enchanted on the Broadway stage!
