'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Review/Recap: "The Road Trip"

Unfortunately, Peralta is a lot harder to take care of than your normal police officer. Any fan of the show knows that Jake is an immature and downright childish human being, and with that being said, Santiago’s job is clearly not going to be an easy one.
When Jake invites Sophia on the trip with him, Amy complains that her boyfriend Teddy (Kyle Bornheimer) never does anything romantic for her, and Peralta, demonstrating his amazing and marvelous compassion, (sarcasm, okay?), invites Teddy to their hotel and attempts to surprise Amy.
When Peralta asked Amy why she wanted to dump Teddy, we got some pretty great quotes from this pair. For example, Santiago said there was “no spark” between them and that the only thing Teddy ever wants to do is brew beer. This comment caused Peralta to state that this man is “obsessed with yeast.” Now, if that doesn’t explain the entire comedic atmosphere of the show, then I don’t know what does.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is brimming with witty puns and extremely bizarre sentences and interactions among characters. While the humor is immature and juvenile like the main character Peralta, it ties in beautifully with the child-like nature of the office and the 99th precinct as a whole. Curious incidents are always occurring, and those inexplicable moments and characters make the show exciting and thrilling.
After Teddy and Sophia storm out of dinner, Amy and Jake ride back to the station together after their strange night in upstate New York. Instead of professing their love for one another like I had initially hoped, they brushed off their prior feelings for one another and pretended like that night had never happened.
Though this episode had great jokes and humor and finally exposed Santiago’s true feelings for Peralta, it left more unanswered questions for the audiences. The love they share for each other is apparent, but the true question is: When will these finally realize that they are meant for one another? Hopefully, soon.
