Cheerleader performed before a sold out crowd at the Paradise Rock Club opening for English rock band The Wombats.

Cheerleader, a five-piece band, hails from Philadelphia.  Their performance was upbeat and kept the audience with their hands up, clapping along.

All of the band members held their own, but the drummer, Carl Banner, in particular was phenomenal.  Even though he was behind the drum set in the back, the audience could feel his energy as he beat the drums harder than a lot of drummers can.

The title track from their new album “The Sunshine of Your Youth” was honestly the best song of the night.  Judging from this song, this new album should be one to watch out for!

“The Sunshine of Your Youth” will be released on May 18th.

Because of their album dropping, the band will be back in Boston soon enough to play another show.  If you can, try to get tickets for their next show here in town…it’ll be worth it!
