With music festivals cropping up in locales large and small across the country, the nation’s capital is jumping onto the bandwagon with its Landmark Music Festival. Washington, D.C. will host a two-day music festival on September 26th and 27th, to benefit the Trust for the National Mall, a foundation dedicated to the restoration of the National Mall.

Headliners of the five-stage event will include major artists, such as Drake, Alt-J, and The Strokes. Over forty additional artists are slated to bring a taste of everything from neo-soul to folk music onto the banks of the Potomac River.

George Ezra, a British folksinger and songwriter, is also scheduled to make an appearance. Ezra has recently gained popularity with his singles “Blame It On Me” and “Budapest”. In addition to the musical performances, eighteen food vendors will be on hand to satisfy attendees’ cravings for anything from Shake Shack burgers to sushi.

An estimated 25,000 people are expected to descend upon West Potomac Park each day, according to festival organizer Sandee Fenton. A portion of these tickets are being reserved as prizes in a free lottery drawing for D.C. residents.

If you aren’t eligible for a lottery ticket, or aren’t lucky enough to win the lottery, single-day passes are available for $105, while a two-day ticket costs $150. VIP packages are also available. Ticket proceeds will be donated to the Trust for the National Mall.

According to the Trust for the National Mall, the National Park Service is facing an estimated $852 million in backlogged repairs and maintenance costs to the famed West Potomac Park. The last major renovation to the National Mall was in 1976, for the national bicentennial, nearly forty years ago. The foundation seeks to expedite the funding process for these efforts via the concert.
