Only a few days prior to the news, the internet was buzzing with information released by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, the original directors of the first movie, which claimed that the status of Frozen 2 was still being debated on. According to the announcement however, as well as Lee’s excited tweets the movie will indeed be happening.
The announcement, much like the original movie, brought mixed reactions from the people. Some, like Kristen Bell who voiced Anna, and Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf were very happy with the news. Other internet users on the other hand, reacted more cynically and focused on the profits that Disney gained from the success of Frozen.
Lee and Buck will be returning to the project as directors, along with producer Peter Del Vecho and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the creators of the award winning ‘Let It Go’. It will definitely be interesting to see if Frozen 2 will live up to Frozen’s success and audience’s expectations.
