Dear Evan Hansen takes the number one slot. Even though it slid in during the last months of 2016, it’s captivating tale of Evan Hansen, a high school loner, and his journey through life, death, love, and internet stardom has totally taken over Broadway this season.
2. Waitress

Arguably the sweetest musical on Broadway right now, Waitress snags a spot in our top ten list (as does the mini pies they serve in the theater). From the music written by Sara Bareilles to constantly flawless performances by Jessie Mueller, Waitress isn’t saying goodbye to 2016 quietly.

2016 got undoubtedly brighter with the opening of the Falsettos musical revival. The show gives us a glimpse of the original “modern family” and an incredible, exhilarating soundtrack accompanies the brilliant plot.

Despite it’s short and sweet run on Broadway, Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s musical added a little blue grass soul to 2016’s season and we are much better off because of it.
5. Fiddler On the Roof

Fiddler on the Roof reminded us of the importance of family during 2016 and gave us an excuse to try out our best Tevya dance moves.

Alan Menken’s music once again takes it’s rightful place on Broadway in this engulfing story about a young boy who gets mixed up with the wrong crowd in his hometown of the Bronx. We all know 2016 needed a little more Alan Menken musical magic.
9. Holiday Inn
