Ralph Breaks the Internet is a family-friendly movie that the whole family will enjoy. This movie was filled with action-packed scenes that were thrilling to watch. From car chases to running from Ralph clones, this movie has it all.
Throughout the film, Ralph (John C. Reilly) is portrayed as an insecure best friend that doesn’t want to give Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) up. This leads to many conflicts between the two friends about how they need to let each other grow. This movie teaches the audience watching that even if your best friend isn’t around you 24/7 that doesn’t mean that they will never be there for you.

At the beginning of the film, Vanellope is bored of her daily tasks as a race car driver for her video game and wants a new challenge. Ralph decides to go into her video game and make a new exciting track for her to use in her next race. The girl who is playing the video game thinks that the game is glitching and she tries to control Vanellope’s driving with the wheel but Vanellope fights back so she can go on the new track Ralph created. This created a power struggle between the girl playing the game and Vanellope, which lead to the player’s wheel breaking.  This leads into the storyline of Ralph and Vanellope having to go to the internet to find a new wheel for her game so then the owner doesn’t shut down her game forever.
When the audience travels to the internet with Ralph and Vanellope, they are taken into a world that shows how obsessed people are with the internet. The people surfing the web are portrayed as computerized versions of themselves. This concept was genius due to it being a realistic representation of what would happen if people were inside of their computers. When Ralph and Vanellope enter the internet they are pestered by pop up ad advertisers which are a good portrayal on how annoying it is when someone is on Facebook and there are a bunch of ads trying to stray you away from what you are doing.

The movie not only draws in a younger audience but it also is entertaining for older audiences. This is due to the film being internet based. Today’s generation is drawn to the internet in an obsession which this movie portrays very well. The audience will start to get excited when they watch Ralph and Vanellope enter the internet and figure out what different networks there are such as eBay.
Overall, Ralph Breaks the Internet is a film that is a good representation of how the internet controls people’s lives and how consuming it can be.
