The Australian band Atlas Genius continued on tour through Boston on October 8th when they played at the House of Blues late that night. The alternative rock band jammed out to a 17-song setlist to promote their debut album “When it Was Now”, which was released in mid-February this year.

The boys have been touring throughout the United States and the UK since April. Their tour, also entitled “When it Was Now”, will conclude in early December. Opening up for Atlas Genius were Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Family of the Year, who had released a new album the day of the show.

The show opened with “On a Day”, one of the songs off of Atlas Genius’s album. Following, the boys played songs from both “When it Was Now”, and their past EP “Through the Glass”, which was released in June of 2012. Atlas Genius kept the crowd going when lead singer Keith Jeffery went out into the crowd during “Back Seat.” They continued by jamming out to their instrumental song entitled “ARP.”

Jeffery later addressed the crowd and told them how Boston is always his favorite city to play in while in the United States. He also joked about his admiration for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Family of the Year, saying he wishes they could marry to make “one very large band.”

Right before the encore, Atlas Genius played their hit single “Trojans”, which reached number 4 this year on Billboard’s Alternative Songs Chart. When they came back on stage, they finished off the show by dedicating their last song, “Electric” to a teenage girl in the front row who had proclaimed that this was her first concert.
