Things To Do In Boston For Halloween

This list will be updated regularly to add as many events as possible.
1. Shudderfest – October 26 & 27 at the Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Sq, Somerville Mass.
Shudderfest is an annual film festival hosted by Boston based website All Things Horror. The films featured at this year’s event are as followed:
I Am A Ghost – October 26th at 7pm
Director: H.P. Mendoza
Starring: Anna Ishida, Jeannie Barroga, Rick Burkhardt
Runtime: 75 minutes
Description (via Press Kit): Emily, a troubled spirit, haunts her own house every day, wondering why she can’t leave. With the help of Sylvia, a clairvoyant hired to rid the house of spirits, Emily is forced into a ‘patient/therapist’ relationship, uncovering disturbing mysteries about her past that may help her move on to ‘the next place’.
Stella Buio – October 26th before American Mary
Director: Lori Bowen
Starring: Chris Cline, Linnea Quigley, Lance Flint
Runtime: 15 minutes
Description (via IMDB.com): In ‘Stella Buio,’ a loving homage to classic Italian zombie films from the 70’s and 80’s, a medium reunites a family with the dearly departed, literally, as the reanimated corpse of their loved one wreaks havoc on the family whilst under the medium’s control.
American Mary – October 26th at 10pm
Directors: Jen & Sylvia Soska
Starring: Katharine Isabelle, Antonio Cupo, Tristan Risk, David Lovgren
Runtime: 103 minutes
Description (by Twisted Twins Productions): The story of a medical student named Mary Mason who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.
Vicki – October 26 before Murder University
Director: Bill Palmer
Starring: Joshua DesRoches, Adam Conger, Will Coleman
Runtime: 14 minutes
Description (via IMDB.com): A loving, comedic homage to John Carpenter’s truly underrated Christine, adapted from the novel by Stephen King. It’s also a stand-alone tribute to American 80’s horror in general.
Murder University – October 26 at 11:59pm
Director: Richard Griffin
Starring: Samantha Acampora, David Adams Murphy, Nick Apostolides
Runtime: 88 minutes
Description (via Film’s Official Facebook page): A series of brutal, cult-like murders are taking place at a New England college. Josh Greene, a shy freshman, is the lone survivor of a series of murders that are reminiscent of a similar string of killings some twenty years prior. As he seeks to uncover the secret behind the attacks, he is joined by Detective Forrester, who was instrumental in halting the bloodshed before, and his daughter Meg, who had barely escaped being a victim previously.
Terror in Short Program – October 27 at 7pm – Featuring over one hour of short horror films.
Video Diary of a Lost Girl – October 27 after Terror in Short program
Director: Lindsay Denniberg
Starring: Erica Gressman, Priscilla McEver, Monica Panzarino
Runtime: 96 minutes
Description (via IMDB.com): A rock and roll horror fantasy where we meet the immortal Louise and her beloved Charlie. Unfortunately, due to Louise’s supernatural origins, every man she sleeps with must die. Charlie was Louise’s first love from the 1920’s, who she accidentally killed before realizing what she is: a descendant of Lilith, the mother of all demons. This race of women must feed on the souls of men once every full moon, or else they will menstruate to death. Now a hundred years later, Charlie returns reincarnated, and Louise must struggle with staying away from the love of her life, or risk losing him a second time. PMS has never been this deadly.
