It seems Michael C. Hall can’t stay away from Broadway for too long. Months after ending his Drama Desk Award winning performance in The Realistic Joneses, Hall will slip into fishnets, stilettos and some fabulous wigs in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Hall will join the Tony Award winning revival from October 16th until January 4th at Broadway’s Belasco Theatre in NYC. Future co-star Lena Hall will continue her 2014 Tony-Award-winning performance as Yitzhak. Hall will take over the role of Hedwig, a transgender rocker from East Berlin, from Broadway vet and Girls star Andrew Rannells. Rannells will play the role until October 14th.

Hall is no stranger from the Broadway stage. He made his Broadway debut in Skylight in 1996 as Edward Sergeant. His Broadway career then grew to more elaborate roles. He went onto perform in Chicago as Billy Flynn in 2002 and most notably taking over the role of the Emcee in Cabaret from Tony Award winner Alan Cumming in 1999. Hall has also had his share of Off-Broadway performances in Mr. Marmalade, Cymbeline, Macbeth, Henry V and many more.

Although he has graced the Broadway stage numerous times, Hall is best known for his role as serial killer Dexter Morgan in Showtime’s Dexter. He received a Golden Globe Award and five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his work on the show. The acclaimed show ended its 8-season run last year. Hall is also known for his work in HBO’s Six Feet Under.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a musical that tells the story of Hedwig, a transgender woman from East Berlin. She has brought her one night only concert to the Belasco Theatre in NYC. Hedwig tells the story of her band “The Angry Inch,” her botched sex change operation, and the loves of her life through stories and songs. With music and lyric by Stephen Trask and a book by John Cameron Mitchell, this Broadway production features Broadway hits like “Sugar Daddy”, “The Origins of Love”, “Wig in a Box” and ‘Midnight Radio”
