5 Reasons To Watch 'Inside Amy Schumer'

Amy Schumer. If you don’t know her name by now then you definitely should. In the past year, the 34 year old comedian, actress, writer, and director has won a Peabody Award, hosted the MTV Movie Awards, opened for Madonna, and written and starred in the critical and commercial success, Trainwreck. Oh, and she also made out with Tina Fey.
As if that wasn’t already enough, Schumers sketch series Inside Amy Schumer was also nominated for four Emmy awards at this year’s ceremony, coming away with one win. Schumer failed to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, however Inside Amy Schumer did win for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. Following the win, Schumer took to the stage with the crew. She revealed to the audience that her writers, “all had to get Final Draft,” the scriptwriting software of choice in the industry, when Inside Amy Schumer was picked up for another season, a fact which demonstrates just how far she’s come since placing fourth in Last Comic Standing’s fifth season in 2007.
Now that it has won an Emmy, here are five reasons to binge watch the first three seasons of Inside Amy Schumer before the fourth comes out in 2016.

1. The Fact That Nothing Is Off Limits

The third season tackles Bill Cosby, rape culture, and the new butt craze and the very first sketch of the first season is titled 2 Girls 1 Cup. When it comes to comedy according to Amy Schumer, there are no holds barred.

2.  The Varied Format

The majority of the sketch show is obviously original sketches, but it contains clips of Schumer’s stand-up as well as interviews Amy conducts with strangers on the street. Each episode ends with a one on one interview between Amy and anyone from a 106 year old woman to the creator of Ashley Madison.

3.  The Guest Stars

The show features a slew of incredible guest stars, such as Paul Giamatti, Rachel Dratch, Jeff Goldblum, Tina Fey, Emerson Alum Jennifer Coolidge and many more.

4.  The Writing

In one sketch Amy Schumer plays a six year old beauty pageant contestant with reverse Benjamin Button disease whose mom is played by Jennifer Coolidge. In another titled 12 Angry Men Inside Amy Schumer, 12 male jurors deliberate on whether Amy Schumer is hot enough to be on TV. The sketches are downright hilarious and incredibly original.  

5.  The Importance Of The Subject Matter

The show fearlessly addresses issues such as rape, sexism, and modern relationships and Schumer’s uses her fierce wit to make fun of our idiosyncrasies to hopefully point out their absurdity.
Inside Amy Schumer is unmissable comedy and Amy Schumer is a talent to watch. Full episodes are available on Hulu and the Comedy Central website. Season 4 comes out in 2016.
