'Stranger Things' Officially Renewed For Season 2: Check Out First Teaser

Grab your box of Eggo waffles, your favorite X-Men comic and get ready because Stranger Things season two is official! Netflix announced early this morning that the summer hit Stranger Things will return with an even bigger season two!
According to TVLine.com, Season two will consist of nine episodes, an entire episode longer than the freshman season. Along with the announcement, Stranger Things also released a teaser video. The video lists numerous movies like Mad Max, The Storm, The Boy Who Came Back to Life and more. Curious.
Season 2 of Stranger Things is expected to arrive sometime in 2017.
In an exclusive interview with EW.com after the announcement, The Duffer Brothers dropped some hints on what fans can expect. In the interview Matt and Ross Duffer teased that returning characters are expected although they aren’t giving away much about Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). They tell EW, Eleven’s involvement is “up in the air.” Season one of Stranger Things ended with Eleven sacrificing herself to save Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and the gang, but Chief Hopper (David Harbour) was seen leaving Eggo’s for one can assume, Eleven.
Stranger Things season two will take place in the fall of 1984. A slight time jump from where we left off in season one. Ross Duffer discusses the slight time jump with EW.com saying, “I think we talked like a larger time jump where the kids are older now and it’s a different decade. That’s something we batted around from the very beginning. But for us, there’s still more story here, there’s still things that are unresolved.”
Also in the EW interview, the Duffer Brother’s disclose that there will be four new characters added to the roster and new and interesting dynamics will be explored between characters.
Other crucial pieces of information include that the Stranger Things season two will venture “a little bit” out of Hawkins. Matt Duffer tells EW, “I will say the opening scene [of the premiere] does not take place in Hawkins.” As for returning to the now infamous “Upside Down,” Matt Duffer says to EW, ” “We kinda just peeled back the curtain and revealed a tiny bit of the Upside Down.”
Season 2 will add four new characters and venture “a little bit” outside Hawkins, Ind., the Duffers also told EW.com.
