The latest episode of How to Get Away with Murder revealed another person who isn’t under the sheet, had more steamy hookup and got us one step closer to the mid-season finale. As things begin to ramp up, Frank (Charlie Weber) returns to town just to give this episode a little added drama. Let’s recap the latest How to Get Away with Murder episode “Call It Mother’s Intuition.”
Alright, let’s start with what everyone is wondering. Who ISN’T under the sheet? In the opening minutes of the episode, Annalise (Viola Davis) finds out she’s being charged with arson and first-degree murder after an “anonymous source” provided the information and tied her to the charges. By episode’s end, we find out that “anonymous source” is none other than Wes (Alfred Enoch)! It’s a sigh of relief for us because we were starting to get really worried Wes was the one under the sheet.
Two weeks later, Wes is being interrogated by the NYPD regarding Wallace Mahoney’s murder. Wes seems to dig himself into an even bigger hole with the police when he lies. He’s shown a photo of Charles Mahoney and tells them he saw him on the scene, even though he never did. Annalise asks why he lied about this, but Wes doesn’t seem to concerned that his lie will catch up with him.
Now on the hookup front on How to Get Away with Murder, Laurel (Karla Souza) and Wes are now hooking up whenever they can. When they tells the others they are going to gather evidence for their case, they actually adjourn to Laurel’s apartment. Little do they know that Frank is back and sees them go in together. Oh boy!

Later on at the courthouse, Wes runs into Nate (Billy Brown), who asks how things went with the NYPD. Nate acts like a concerned older brother and tells Wes to watch himself. We aren’t sure if Nate is trying to protect Wes out of the goodness of his heart or if he knows something we don’t. Knowing How to Get Away with Murder, it’s the second option.
If things couldn’t get any worse for Wes, it comes out that Charles Mahoney has a solid alibi for the night of his father’s murder and all charges against him have been dropped. Wes, being the good guy that he is, tells Annalise about his conversation with Nate and he’s afraid he’s putting everyone in danger. Annalise assures him not to worry and to stop feeling guilty.
He may be all kinds of crazy, but we just can’t help but love Frank. In this week’s How to Get Away with Murder, Frank finally returns to town. He’s lurking around corners, apparently spying on Laurel and just being Frank. Later in the episode, he shows up at Bonnie’s (Liza Weil) apartment. In an emotional moment, Frank tells Bonnie he wants to tell Annalise everything and he even apologized to Bonnie for leaving the hotel room after they slept together. Bonnie isn’t having it though. She loses it and tells Frank she risked everything and lied to Annalise to help him.
In a heartbreaking moment, Frank is hysterically crying while Bonnie yells at him. He begs her for forgiveness, but she shoots back with an eviscerating attack: “Annalise was the only one of us who was right about you. The rest of us just fell for you act.” Ouch Bonnie. She then screams at him until he leaves her apartment. Frank may be a psycho, but he’s our psycho and we just want to hold him. Frank eventually surprises Laurel at her apartment and we just know that’s going to be a central storyline next week!
The case-of-the-week in this episode centers around an elderly woman who’s accusing her three adult children of poisoning her with antifreeze. The case is more complicated than a typical family lawsuit because all three children, Jarred, Nelson and Karen, have joked about killing their mother. Their mother would be cruel and insane towards them, in public no less. Let’s be honest, all signs point to the children being guilty.

Annalise gives the students a little more incentive this week. Whoever procures the best suspect gets an automatic A on her midterms. Asher (Matt McGorry) finds a grocery deliveryman, Roger, who recently emailed Karen about how to poison someone with antifreeze. Karen admits she’s been dating Roger and has kept their relationship a secret for fear of their mother. Asher’s suspect can’t be used.
During their depositions, Annalise stresses that the siblings need to present a united front. Their mother proves just as difficult as they explained and eventually Jarred cracks. He openly says he wishes she died in court. Smooth move Jarred. Smooth. Move.
Annalise grows more suspicious of the mothers involvement in her own poisoning. She believes she may have poisoned herself. Annalise presents the idea to Laurel and has her present it in court the next day. Laurel proves she’s the true MVP in court. She presents herself as very nervous and flighty (think Carol when she shows up to Alexandria in The Walking Dead). Laurel successfully corners the mother in her own lie. She proves she’s been reading her daughter’s emails and her sons’ texts about killing her.
This case also has Annalise take stock in her own life. Before the Keating Five end up hating her as much as the children hate their mother in the case, she decides to have a moment with them. She insists they come at her with everything they hate about her. It’s a giant venting session. Everyone piles on except for Wes who says, “You already know how I feel about you.”

The surprising (not so surprising) hookup this week goes to none other than Connor (Jack Falahee) and Oliver (Conrad Ricamora)! Oliver begins the episode going on a second date with Tom, however their relationship ends when Oliver reveals he’s HIV positive. Tom says he isn’t ready to handle the situation. This of course leads Oliver to go see Connor and Michaela’s (Aja Naomi King) apartment. It takes all of two minutes before they are getting hot and heavy in Michaela’s bed. Long live “Coliver.”
In the flashforwards on How to Get Away with Murder this week, Laurel finally wakes up in the hospital. In a state of panic, Laurel asks Meggie (Corbin Reid) for a pad and pen. She asks for Wes and this is when we find out he’s the one that is alive. So, who do we think is under the sheet? Could it be Connor? Or Nate? Or Frank? With only two episodes left, How to Get Away with Murder is heating up!
