The comic book scene has changed drastically since 2010 when Young Justice first aired. Now superheroes are everywhere. Key Young Justice characters such as M’gann M’orzz, Artemis, and Wally West, have made central appearances on Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash respectively. Many Supergirl viewers found the White Martian reveal on the show wasted as Young Justice covered the topic earlier. Aspects of Young Justice have made appearances in the wider DC Universe even after its initial cancellation.

The kids show ran for two seasons in 2010 and 2013, before being canceled to the dismay of its many fans. The reason it was canceled chalked up to poor toy sales. During its run, the show was critically acclaimed for its animation and storytelling. It won a Primetime Emmy in Individual Achievement in Animation for Phillip Bourassa’s work on “Independence Day.” The show also placed number 20 on IGN’s “Top 25 Comic Book Shows of All Time” in 2011.
Recently the show has made headlines as the second season was put on Netflix. People flocked to watch it. Since then there have been constant calls for a season three of the show. Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, said that the fan’s “rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us.” The commitment of the fans is the main charge for the revival of the series.

There is still no word regarding whether the show will still air on Cartoon Network or move to the much rumored Netflix. There is also no news on the voice cast returning or on whether or not the story will pick up on the Darkseid plot it left dangling at the end of season 2.
