If you have any love of live music, don’t think twice about spending a hard earned $19 on tickets to see Foxygen in Boston.

Foxygen is comprised of two high school buddies, Sam France and Jonathan Rado, who create some brilliant music by channeling their myriad influences (Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones) into a modern psychedelic/indie rock sound. The California natives started recording experimental music at the age of fifteen, and since then released two studio albums, with a third to be released October 14th.

You shouldn’t just see this show for their genuine musical talent, or even the fact that you’ll get a sneak peak of their upcoming double album …And Star Power which will be released three days later. You should see them because Foxygen are some of the best live performers in the business.

In accordance with their 60’s/70’s rock roots, comparisons have been aptly made between the stage presence of Foxygen’s Sam France and Rolling Stone’s Mick Jagger. Sam’s exuberant mannerisms coupled with a tendency to immerse himself completely into the music will keep you mesmerized for the entirety of the show.

In an era of overpriced concerts for lackluster performances, Foxygen are a welcome addition to the live music scene.

So come on down to Paradise Rock Club on October 11th for one of the best shows you’ll see this year. Trust me.
