The CW has announces its 2017 mid-season premiere dates for The 100, iZombie, Reign, The Originals and the highly anticipated premiere of Riverdale. Meanwhile, The Vampire Diaries series finale gets a farewell date and Legends of Tomorrow and Supernatural are on the move.
Superhero shows spanning four nights on The CW will come to an end come mid-season. Legends of Tomorrow will assume the Tuesdays at 9/8c starting January 24th. It will now be paired with The Flash on Tuesdays. Legends of Tomorrow will air its season finale on March 28th with iZombie taking its time slot with back-to-back new episodes on April 4th. iZombie will move to its regularly scheduled time slot after The Flash on April 11th.
Starting January 26th, Supernatural will return in its new time slot, Thursdays at 8/7c, with the series debut of Riverdale following at 9/8c. Riverdale is a fresh take on the Archie Comics. The new TV show follows Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and their friends as they explore the surrealism of small town life – the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome facade.
The 100 will make its season four return on Wednesday February 1st at 9/8c following Arrow. Although The 100 had a somewhat controversial season three, the hit apocalyptic show looks to get back to its sci-fi roots in season four.
Reign will return on Friday February 10th at 9/8c taking Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s time slot. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will conclude its abbreviated second season on February 3rd.
It’s also the end of an era on The CW. The Vampire Diaries will conclude after eight seasons on Friday March 10th. The spin-off show, The Originals, will assume The Vampire Diaries time slot on March 17th.
In terms of new series, No Tomorrow will air its season finale on January 17th with Frequency airing its season finale the following week on January 25th. The CW declined to order additional episodes for both series, but there isn’t a final decision on future seasons.
