Animated Wizard of Oz Sequel to Come to The Big Screen

Clarius Entertainment has just announced the plan to release an animated sequel to the much beloved Wizard of Oz classic, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return. This film features: Lea Michelle, Martin Short, Jim Belushi, Kelsey Grammer, Hugh Dancy, Bernadette Peters, Dan Akroyd, Patrick Stewart, and Megan Hilty. Will Finn and Dan St. Pierre, who are known for working on most notably Pocahontas and The Little Mermaid, will be directing this film.
The plot originates from the adventure books by Roger Stanton Baum. It is a continuation of Dorothy’s first journey to Oz after she is sent back to Kansas. Now in this 3D animated film, Dorothy (Lea Michelle) is taken back to Oz in order to save Tin-Man, Glinda, Scarecrow, and the Lion from a new threat. In the journey to save her friends from Jester (Martin Short), the new villain in Oz, Dorothy meets some new characters. Wiser the owl (Oliver Platt), Marshal Mallow (Hugh Dancy), China Princess (Megan Hilty), and Tugg the Tugboat (Patrick Stewart) will be joining Dorothy on her new adventures.
This film will be released on May 9, 2014.
