Emertainment Monthly’s Ultimate Coachella Playlist
Max Cherry ’17 / Emertainment Monthly Staff Writer
With the summer soon approaching, that means its music festival time and I’ll be here to bring you playlists and info on the bands to pump yourselves up for each and every festival. So without further ado, lets get started on Coachella, which is already a week in but there’s still another great week ahead!
“We Are The People” – Empire of the Sun
“No Angels”– Bastille feat. Ella
This song really is something else. The guys in Bastille got the beautiful and haunting guitar riff from The XX’s Angels and put that to the up-tempo beat and lyrics of No Scrubs by TLC. Seriously its awesome go listen to it this second.
“After the Disco”- Broken Bells
“Blue Moon” – Beck
After vanishing off the face of the Earth for the past few years making sheet music, Beck has returned with a beautiful new album with some great, great music.
“The Girl” – City and Colour
Get your tissues ready.
“Down in the Valley” – The Head and the Heart
“Coming Down” – Dum Dum Girls
“New Theory” – Washed Out
“January” – Disclosure feat. Jamie Woon
Disclosure has made insanely huge waves this year and is ready to return to the music festival scene as a huge headliner.
“Ms. Jackson” – Outkast
Outkast played their first show in about 10 years this past weekend with the help of Janelle Monaé and while it got shaky reviews (something I’m still in denial about), it was their first show. Give it one or two more performances and the dynamic duo of Andre 3000, and Big Boi will be back in top form.
“Cocoa Butter Kisses” – Chance. The Rapper
“Love is to Die” – Warpaint
“Recover” – CHVRCHES
“Die 4 Me” – RL Grime
“Happy” – Pharrell Williams
Pharrell killed it this past weekend as he always does with the help of some of his dancers, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Busta Rhymes, and Gwen Stefani.
