Released just last year, Frozen was a critical and commercial success that quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, with many lauding it as a Disney classic. One of many results was the reveal that its characters would appear on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, as per the Season 3 finale. Fan reaction is mixed, some unable to wait to see their favorite animated characters come to life and others thinking it too soon. Regardless, on July 1st, it was announced that Scott Michael Foster (Greek) and newcomer Elizabeth Lail had been cast as Kristoff and Anna respectively. Two days later, Georgina Haig (Reckless) was cast as Elsa, with Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless) later joining the cast as Prince Hans. Although several promotional photos have aired, series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have kept relatively quiet about plot details for the upcoming season.
As fans of Once Upon a Time know, the show is famous for portraying fairytale characters we all know and love, but with a twist. It has been hinted that Elsa might appear in a more villainous nature than in the Disney movie. Not only will we see Elsa attempt to make sense of Storybrooke while being perceived as a threat , but she’ll fight for control against Regina/The Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla). The season 4 premiere itself “A Tale of Two Sisters”, will detail Elsa’s past; both her history in Arendelle as preparations are made for Anna’s wedding to Kristoff, and we will also see how she ended up in Storybrooke in the first place. It will be one fans won’t want to miss.
Tune into “A Tale of Two Sisters” on September 28th at 8PM on ABC.
