The penultimate conference of E3 2017 came to us from Sony and the PlayStation family of consoles. Let’s check out what they had in store!
Sony opened with two cinematic trailers, the first being for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a new chapter in the Uncharted franchise starring returning characters Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazer, and another for Horizon Zero Dawn add-on content. Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds will be available this year.
Sony also had quite a few gameplay trailers to showcase as well. Days Gone, first announced in 2016, showed off a daring rescue mission in an apocalyptic, zombie-infested setting, while Monster Hunter World, a fresh installment in the Monster Hunter series, featured a daring hunt and a release window of early 2018.
The end of 2017 will see the release both of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on September 19th with a story demo available right now, and Call of Duty: WWII on November 9th. Team Ico’s 2005 hit Shadow of the Colossus will be getting a remaster in 2018, and Detroit: Become Human saw a trailer with a blend of cinematic cutscene and gameplay.
PlayStation VR had a number of titles announced for it as well, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, Star Child, The Inpatient, a VR DLC for Final Fantasy XV entitled Monster of the Deep, Bravo Team, and Moss.
A hefty look at God of War’s gameplay was presented alongside a release window of early 2018, while Destiny 2 showcased another trailer and a release date of September 6th. Sony boasted PlayStation exclusive add-on content for Destiny 2, including weapon, gear, and maps.
The final trailer of the night was for Marvel: Spider-Man, the upcoming title based, obviously, on the comic book character of the same name. During the trailer, Peter Parker battles criminals, flies between buildings and over rooftops, and embarks on a one-on-one battle with a helicopter.
PlayStation promised to have more news on its upcoming titles later this year at PSX. For all your E3 2017 updates, remember to keep checking back at Emertainment!
