Jess Guida ’19 / Emertainment Monthly Staff Writer Musical theater fans and nerds alike can show their spirit this Halloween season by paying tribute to their favorite characters from the stage. Here are the Top 10 characters to dress up as on Halloween!
The Witch is an amazing character, but she makes an even better Halloween costume. You could choose to be the witch before or after her transformation, or maybe just change halfway through the night. Either way, you’ll need some crazy hair, a cloak, and walking stick.
This is a character you could have some fun with because there are so many choices. You could be Frank Abagnale Jr., Frank Abagnale Jr.—the pilot, or Frank Abagnale Jr.—the doctor. But, if you want to go the signature captain route, you’ll need a suit and captain’s hat. And maybe you can get ten of your closest friends to be stewardesses.
Yes, as you may have guessed, this costume will require a lot of hairspray. Or, maybe you opt for just a simple wig. Either way, the most important part of this character is the hair. The rest you could get away with a white shirt and a plaid skirt.
Let’s say you have a low budget this Halloween. Well, Mark Cohen can relate. That’s why all you’ll need to pull off this character is a patterned scarf, a patterned sweater, and some glasses. And maybe a camera to top it off.
This is your chance to become Sutton Foster! Well—sort of become her. With some high-wasted blue pants, a white striped shirt, and a blue scarf, you could bring this character to life.
Grab some hats and couple of suits to become this crime duo. This is a perfect costume to do as a couple or with a friend, and just in case anyone asks, you’re not just Bonnie and Clyde. You’re Bonnie and Clyde from the musical.
If you’re looking for a simpler costume, then Elder Price is the way to go. Black pants, a white shirt, a name tag, and a black tie are all you need to complete his ensemble. Then just grab a bible and paste on that signature smile.
Whether you’re all three Heathers or just one, this would be a great costume. Invest in a plaid skirt, some knee-high socks, and a bow for your hair and you will be indistinguishable.
Grab a friend or fly solo. Just make sure you get plenty of sparkle for these two divas. All you’ll need are some heels and flashy leotards or dresses, and then just add some accessories.
