Pixar Just Keeps Going, Just Keeps Going

The loveable and ever forgetful blue tang fish Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, returns for the sequel and finds herself center stage as the film dives into Dory’s life a year after the first film took place.
Dory was all alone in the deep blue sea when the audience first met her in Finding Nemo, and according to Director Andrew Stanton the Pixar team couldn’t stop thinking about why.
Finding Dory will take place along the California coastline where Dory is reunited with her loved ones, finally discovering the true meaning of family. Accompanied by the familiar fins of Nemo, Marlin and the Tank Gang, as well as the introduction of several new gills to the underwater crew, some of who will prove to be very important to Dory’s story.
After 12 years of waiting, DeGeneres is eager to reprise her role as Dory, but believes that the time was well spent. According to DeGeneres, the Pixar team has managed to create a script full of heart, humor and everybody’s favorite fish, a script worthy of the scatterbrained yet endearing Dory.
Finding Nemo won the Academy Award back in 2003 for Best Animated Feature, as well as receiving three additional Oscar nominations and several other awards. According the American Film Institute, the film was named one of the top ten greatest animated films ever made in 2008, and at the time of the movie’s release Finding Nemo was the highest grossing G-rated movie of all time.
With the astounding success Finding Nemo received, the pressure is on for the release of Finding Dory, especially with the 12-year delay. Audiences are impatient for the story to continue and expectations are high. Will Finding Dory be able to touch the butt or will it never make it past ‘drop off’?
