It looks like Breaking Bad isn’t AMC’s only show with an upcoming spinoff. After the huge success of The Walking Dead, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that AMC wants to expand the popular zombie-apocalypse show. Robert Kirkman, Gale Ann Hurd, and David Alpert are set to be the executive producers with AMC Studios producing the spin off, which is slated to premiere in 2015.
The new companion series is separate from what audiences now know as The Walking Dead. The show will present new characters, new storylines, and most likely a new location. The series will start with a clean slate, allowing for all types of new problems to arise. The current series are based on many of the characters and story arcs in Kirkman’s original comic books (published by Image Comics Skybound).
AMC’s The Walking Dead is currently the #1 show in the coveted demographic of males between the ages of 18-49. It is set to return October 13 at 9 P.M. EST.
