One of YouTube’s biggest celebrities, Grace Helbig, has just released her first book and it is an absolute delight. Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending To Be A Grown-Up combines personal stories from Grace, tips to surviving various life moments, and even advice from her mom to help millennials thrive in the current world as they transition into adulthood. Grace has stated that this book is what she would have wanted to read when she was a teen/young adult instead of having to rely on not necessarily the most trustful or appropriate resources (i.e. the internet). In the Introduction, Grace admits that she may not have all the answers, but she sure has a lot of experience that she wants to share with all the beautiful strangers out there.

Grace’s Guide is written precisely in Grace’s voice. If you watch her YouTube videos, you will instantly be able to hear her voice in your head which makes reading quite entertaining! The audio-book is read by Grace herself, which is certainly something you should check out. Now back to the book! In her videos, Grace has a way of going on tangents, and her book is no different. Normally, that may seem unnecessary or annoying in a book, but not in this one. Grace’s tangent’s will have you laughing out loud. In the book, she even calls herself out on the tangents making it feel as if she’s having a normal conversation with the audience, much like her videos. Some of the best tangents include fluorescent lightbulbs, a chicken caesar salad wrap, The Learning Channel, and PetCo.

Another thing to look forward to in Grace’s Guide is the acronyms and hashtags at the end of many chapters. Other moments to savor include the anxiety relief tips (while some are serious, others are absolutely hysterical and could make even the most sad or anxious person crack a smile) and the list of potential party games as well as the list of conversation starters. Both are absolutely ridiculous in a truly Grace style. Overall, not a page goes by without at least a brief giggle.

All the tangents, funny moments, poop stories, and sex jokes aside, Grace’s Guide is truly helpful and meaningful at it’s core. Grace gives her audience confidence, a sense that they are not alone in their struggles and confusion, and sincere pieces of advice, the number one being “Be nice.”

If you are a millennial who is in the stages of growing-up and are wondering how to make the best of your life, read Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending To Be A Grown-Up. Even if you’re not, and you’re just a fan of Grace Helbig, you’ll love her book. There really is something for everyone.

Grace Helbig is currently doing a U.S. book tour along with the #NoFilterShow tour with her best friends and fellow YouTube stars, Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart. Locations include various cities in New York, Massachussetts, Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, and California. For a full list of cities and details, go to www.gracesguidebook.com.
